THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Ace Design is the design studio of Adam Elwell. My career up until now has been in agencies with titles such as Art Director, Designer and Associate Design Director. Over the years I've gained valuable experience in that setting as a designer focusing on ideas built with empathy and craft. Now, I am applying what I've learned to brands I believe in and the people at the core of those brands.
The images above show pieces of me that are in addition to my love for design. Family, mountain biking, the outdoors, fresh air, challenges, getting dirty, togetherness, exploration, being in motion—these are things that define me. And many of them apply to my life as a designer and my life as a family man, a father and a husband.
I mention all of this because I've spent most of my design career searching for those connections between brands and the people that define them. I want to get to the core of a brand beyond the products or services they sell. What is your "mountain biking" and what are your challenges? My goal is to truly understand the humanity at the center of that brand and then figure out the best way to bring it to life through design.
I believe this process is a collaborative one so in all fairness I like to share a lot about myself and influences in my life that become a part of my personal brand.
